Terms & Conditions of Attendance

A legal disclaimer

By entering, attending, or participating in the Chief Pontiac Heritage Pow Wow & Jubilee (“Event”), you acknowledge and agree that your presence and participation are voluntary and at your own risk.

The Event is organized by the Ottawa Chief Pontiac Heritage Historic Society (in formation) and Washington Events. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the organizers, along with their affiliates, partners, sponsors, volunteers, and the City of Pontiac, assume no responsibility and shall not be held liable for any claims, damages, injuries, losses, or expenses of any kind arising from or related to:

  • Personal injury, illness, or death

  • Loss, theft, or damage to personal property

  • Accidents or incidents occurring on or near the Event premises

  • Participation in any activities, performances, or attractions

  • Interactions with vendors, exhibitors, or other attendees

 

All attendees expressly release, waive, and discharge the Event organizers and all associated parties from any and all liability, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, to the maximum extent allowed by law.

By attending, you also consent to the use of your image, likeness, and voice in any photographs, video recordings, or promotional materials without compensation.

If you do not agree to these terms, you should not enter or participate in the Event.

Terms & Conditions of Attendance

1. General Admission & Participation

The Chief Pontiac Heritage Pow Wow & Jubilee (“Event”) is open to the public. By attending this Event, all guests, participants, vendors, volunteers, and attendees (“Attendees”) agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

2. Assumption of Risk

  • By attending this Event, you voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation, including but not limited to:

  • Personal injury

  • Property damage or loss

  • Exposure to weather conditions

  • Participation in physical activities (sports, dancing, etc.)

  • Interaction with vendors, performers, and other attendees

  • Attendance is at your own risk.

3. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Attendees agree to release, waive, and discharge:

  • Ottawa Chief Pontiac Heritage Historic Society

  • Washington Events

  • The City of Pontiac

  • Event sponsors, partners, volunteers, staff, and affiliates

  • from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in the Event.

This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Injury, illness, or death

  • Theft, loss, or damage of personal property

  • Accidents occurring before, during, or after the Event

4. No Responsibility for Personal Property

Event organizers are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Attendees are solely responsible for securing their personal items.

5. Medical Emergencies

In the event of a medical emergency:

Attendees authorize Event staff to seek emergency medical assistance if needed

All medical costs and related expenses are the sole responsibility of the Attendee

6. Weather & Event Changes

This is a rain-or-shine event. The Event organizers reserve the right to:

Modify, reschedule, or cancel the Event

Adjust programming, vendors, or activities

due to weather, safety concerns, or unforeseen circumstances.

No guarantees are made regarding specific activities, performances, or experiences.

7. Code of Conduct

All Attendees are expected to conduct themselves respectfully. The Event reserves the right to remove any individual without refund or compensation for:

  • Disorderly behavior

  • Illegal activity

  • Harassment or disrespect toward others

  • Failure to follow Event guidelines

 

8. Vendor & Third-Party Disclaimer

 

The Event may include independent vendors, performers, and exhibitors.

Event organizers are not responsible for the actions, products, or services of third parties

Any transactions or interactions with vendors are solely between the Attendee and the vendor

9. Photography & Media Release

By attending the Event, you grant permission for your image, likeness, and voice to be captured and used for:

  • Marketing

  • Promotional materials

  • Social media

  • Future event advertising

No compensation will be provided for such use.

10. Children & Supervision

Children must be supervised at all times. Parents and guardians assume full responsibility for the safety and behavior of minors.

11. Indemnification

Attendees agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Event organizers and affiliates from any claims resulting from their actions, participation, or negligence.

12. No Guarantees or Warranties

The Event is provided “as is” without any guarantees or warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to:

  • Safety

  • Availability of activities

  • Quality of services or experiences

13. Agreement to Terms

By entering the Event premises, Attendees acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.
